Man, I need to get off my jewelry kick... but, I just can't figure out what I want to work on. I guess I'm just in one of those funks lately... Oh and my 21st birthday was Saturday! Woohoo!

More New Jewelry! (and a hotpad)

Michael took me to Hancock's and Hobby Lobby to pick up some beads for jewelry, and I found gorgeous pendants to use as well! I'm apparently addicted to making jewelry for the time being, so here's some pictures of my latest ones!

NEW new projects!

If you read my previous post, I said I was going to start on some crazy creatures from my sister's doodle notebook. I picked one out, and got to work. A few hours later, this is what I had created.


It does look like Amanda's drawing, but I dunno... it's just not right... I got to thinking about it's structural stability, and realized there is no way to have that giant head on a tiny bird's body (yes, my sister is out there lol)... at least not without using a dowel, but then, if a child were to play with the toy, it could potentially poke out and hurt them, and I don't feel like getting sued LOL. So I switched over to jewelry. I found a gorgeous pattern through Crochet Pattern Central, and got to work. I don't have a picture of the original necklace I made, but I may take one here after a bit. I loved the idea of making simple wearable crochet creations, so I whipped up a few more necklaces! Here's just a couple.

I have to admit, I'm getting a little addicted to jewelry making! My 21st birthday is Saturday, and I'm half tempted to ask my boyfriend, parents, sister, and friends to buy me #3 crochet thread! LOL

New project(s) I'm starting...

Sorry I haven't been posting lately, I started a new diet/exercise plan and haven't had much inspiration for new projects. Until I remembered the drawings my sister does when she's bored. Crazy creatures that make no sense whatsoever... and they would be too darn cute as crocheted critters! So that's my new inspiration. I'll be working on crazy critters and when I finish one, I'll post up the drawing and the crocheted creation for ya'll to see! I also plan on putting each of the critters up for sale in my Etsy shop, and there will only be one of each creature made! I'll get back to ya'll as soon as I get one made, I promise!

When Pigs Fly....

My mom has a lamp with a pig with wings as the base, so that whenever someone says, "When pigs fly..." she'll have something to show them for a good laugh. So I made her a pocket piggy to use on the go for the same purpose! I made an extra one that is for sale in my Etsy shop! (Pics are of the one for sale) You can buy him here!
